If you are fortunate to visit Holland, your kids will have the time of their lives. Within one Dutch city, The Hague, are several great things to see and experience. Here are the things our children visited and will never forget.

Madurodam – Miniature City and the History of Holland
Your children can enjoy what is, perhaps, the most extensive miniature city in the world. Children of two and three years old are as tall as three story buildings, to give you an idea of scale. Each building has a story which you can learn all about. As you learn about the buildings, the dikes and the ports of Holland you are learning a lot about the country’s history too. Most families spend at least a full half day at the park. Even up to the teen years the sights at Madurodam are entrancing.

Scheveningen – Holland’s Largest Public Beach
In the warm summer months thousands of Europeans flock to Scheveningen to enjoy the sun and the cool waters of the North Sea. A visit to this beach and all the attendant attractions is well worth the time. As the beach is close to the Madurodam Miniature City many families make a day trip by combining the two stops.

Keukenhof – Lisse Holland
A great day trip for the whole family is to visit Keukenhof. This is the home of tulips that are exported all around the world. There is a museum that explains the amazing and crazy history behind the development and sale of tulips. Tulips were the reason for the formation of the world’s first commodity exchange. Learn about the orphaned children that became millionaires by selling the tulip bulbs their deceased father left for them.
Take a look here to learn more: Oh my! Those awful wee beasties

Traveling throughout Europe is relatively easy, as there are so many different options available for you. This holds true with Holland, as no matter what time of year you are visiting or who you are traveling with, there are several different excellent methods of transportation available to you. However, the very best might just be one of the oldest currently still in use: bicycle.

There are dozens of locations in most cities that allow you to rent out a bicycle for the day. Chances are your hotel also provides this kind of service also. In order to take advantage of this kind of service, you just need to select the bicycle and pay the rental fee. This allows you to get around the city easily, without dealing with hectic traffic. You are also going to find that most other individuals in the country also use this form of transportation in order to get from Point A to Point B. Of course, there are other methods of transportation available, but if you want to save money while getting exercise and taking in the local scenery for yourself, make sure to stop by and rent a bicycle while you visit the country.

When you are traveling, you need to know one key thing and that item is how to rent a car in Holland. When you know about how to do this, it can easily make your adventure that you are taking even better than what you thought because you can get from point to point inside of the country.

The main way that you can go about renting these vehicles is by using a travel agent or the Internet travel sites. By using these sites, it can be rather easy for you to lock in your vehicle and know that you have one to use when you are in town. Without using these sites or agents, the chances of having a vehicle when you arrive can be drastically reduced.

Getting the best trip of a life time can be rather difficult to do at times. However, when you know how to rent a car in Holland, it can easily lead to your trip that was boring turning into one that you can easily remember for years to come. Without knowing about this, the chance of your trip being a good one can be drastically reduced because you are stuck inside of the hotel room all the time.

Last summer when I decided to pack my bags for a European tour, the first country which came in my mind was Holland. The thing which has always fascinated me towards this country is its lovely landscape and suburban areas. I always wanted to explore the surrounding areas of Rotterdam, Amsterdam and The Hague by road. That is why after reaching Holland, my first activity was to know that is my drivers license valid in Holland.

I came to know that this country had signed the 1949 UN Convention on road traffic and the International Driving Permits are legitimate here. Besides that, an American issued valid license is also accepted here for the people who are on tourist visas. Being a tourist friendly state, one can find tourist information centers and comfy and economical hotels everywhere. The food is no problem as along with renowned food chains, the delicious local dishes also pull the travelers towards them.

Known for its windmills and flowers, Netherlands is just like a diamond right in the middle of the Europe. One can easily lose his way while watching the mesmerizing countryside and it will be good to keep a road map with you when driving. Fastening of seat belts is mandatory and the traffic follows the keep right rule just like in United States. One can reach up to the maximum speed of 120 km/h on the highways and all these road safety regulations are strictly followed with the help of hidden cameras and efficient traffic police.

Holland is a country which grabs your attention slowly and by the end of your trip you will be totally addicted with it. So plan a vacation for Netherlands with your family. Drive them around without having the suspicion of is my driver’s license valid in Holland.

Holland, Netherlands can be a very expensive flight to find if you do not get it well in advance. You can pay as much as 1500 and as low as 900 for a round trip ticket. These prices will vary depending on many factors. You will have to determine the departing location as well as the time you purchase your ticket. The sooner you get your ticket, the less you will have to pay for it. You can expect to pay more for a ticket if you get it later. If you are planning on traveling around a holiday, the ticket prices will be way more than they usually are. That is why it is best to book far in advance, so that you can receive the best deal possible. Either way, do not expect to get cheap prices if you are far from the Netherlands. If you are anywhere in the United States, ticket prices will be expensive versus someone who doesn’t live in the U.S. The best thing to do is to save up for your ticket, that way you will be able to afford it when it is time to book it. The sooner, is the better. If you like what you see, keep going: England vs Netherlands Friendly Live Watch Fixtures Results

Since 2002, the currency of the Netherlands has been the euro. The Netherlands are one of the 27 member states of the European Union. 17 of the states, including the Netherlands, utilize the same currency. The advantage of this shared currency is that it makes traveling throughout Europe much easier for both locals and tourists.

Before the currency conversion in 2002, the Dutch guilder had been in place in the Netherlands since the 17th century. The decision to switch over from a form of currency that had been a part of the local culture for so many years was not made lightly and it took the Netherlands 7 years to sign on for the euro. Since the euro’s introduction in 1995, it has become the 2nd largest currency in the world. The euro is also one of the strongest currencies in the world and all signs indicate that it will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

Due to the euros wide availability, tourists who visit the Netherlands will have easy access to currency exchange before they get to their destination. Banks all over the world keep a reserve of euros on hand. After your visit, any leftover euros will be easily exchanged, either on your way out of the country or once you arrive back at home.

Holland is an area in Europe that makes up the Netherlands. Holland is split up into two areas: North Holland and South Holland. Due to its location on the coast of the North Sea, Holland’s climate is one that offers cool summers and mild winters. It is close to that of the United Kingdom. The Netherlands predominant wind direction is southwest. This allows for a maritime climate.

Since Holland is small, temperatures do not fluctuate like they would if Holland was larger. A maritime influence is less inland; therefore, there are differences in temperatures away from the coast of Holland.

Winters in Holland are usually warmer. Although they can have winters were temperature falls far below zero if there is an easterly wind causing a continental type of weather. The ice days usually occur from the months of December until February.

Warmer days in Holland occur during April through September. Summer days are usually classified during May until August. Again, if there is an easterly wind, summer can be dry and warm.

Due to Holland’s landscape being flat, breezy conditions can influence weather, especially during winter. Overall, Holland is classified as a warm, humid climate, a beautiful place to visit anytime of year.

Amsterdam is a city full of history and beautiful views, but also synonymous with partying and relaxed drugs laws, which make families and travelers wonder how safe the city really is to travel to.

There are many things that people think about when they think of Amsterdam such as marijuana, prostitution and an abundance of partying college students’ which may lead people to assume crime must be through the roof in the city. It’s important to remember that all cities have crime, but it may be surprising to many that Amsterdam actually has one of the lowest crime rates in Europe.

In 2008 the city was rated 22 out of 215 for the world’s safest cities by Mercer for its 2008 Quality of Life Survey. While other hugely popular tourist destinations for families, such as Paris and London didn’t even make it into the top 50. Many people who visit Amsterdam describe the city as having a more village atmosphere than a city one due to its natives having very carefree attitudes.

While Amsterdam is definitely a safe place for tourists to travel to, probably even more so than most cities, it’s still important to be cautious when ever traveling.

Travelers to Holland have a wide variety of lodging choices available. There are many hotels located throughout the nation that offer top of the line accommodations with all the amenities that vacationers expect. Finding the best hotels in the major Dutch cities may require some research.

There are several five star properties as rated by the major travel sites. The Hotel Pulitzer in Amsterdam is considered one of the best hotels in Europe. It is located directly on two canals and offers easy access to the city. The major hotel chains are also represented in the city of Amsterdam and across the country.

The Sofitel Grand Amsterdam is an offering from French hotel company Accor. The Sofitel brand provides very upscale five star accommodations with many venues for food and drink in the building. The rooms are large and spacious and many suites are available at the Sofitel.

The Inter Continental Hotel also offers luxurious rooms in a classic styled building. First opened in 1867 this hotel provides grand accommodations with classic European luxuries. Two restaurants and a private dining boat on the canals are some of the attractions offered by the Inter Continental Hotel.

Many lower priced alternatives are also available in the city of The Netherlands. These offerings include several Hilton properties. The Amsterdam Hilton, made famous from the lyrics of the Ballad of John and Yoko is still in operation and has seen several upgrades and renovations in recent years.
